DJ P.A.N.D.A. In The Booth!
Some of you may know who DJ P.A.N.D.A. is from the hilarious articles on the Pure.FM Blog (he now has his own website). DJ P.A.N.D.A. has done some serious hating in the house music community, nothing too mean, its mostly just playful humor. Nonetheless, DJ P.A.N.D.A. is one funny dude and we had a chance to exchange a few words.
Watch out for some outrageous articles from the notorious DJ P.A.N.D.A. everyone!
1) Who is DJ P.A.N.D.A.
Well, I’ve been told by plenty of people that I’m really good looking and that I have a great personality. You’ll never forget me once you’ve met me. That’s how impressive I am. I’m also very intelligent. After I graduated from Harvard with a duel masters in antropology and sociology, I joined the Peace Corps and worked in Malaysia where I discovered a new tribe called the “Walaomaukuliew” which roughly translates to the “Bullshitters”. From this tribe, I learned to bullshit and bullshit some more and when I came back to the States, I brought back their customs of bullshitting and have been spreading it ever since.
2) In your last post, you brutally made fun of DJs names calling Steve Angello, “Steve And Jello”. Can you tell us how you came up with your DJ name?

3) What does P.A.N.D.A. stand for?
It’s not the right time to reveal it yet.
4) You’ve criticized a lot of DJs, who gave you the moral authority to be able to do so?
I am the president of the unofficial International DJ Council. As the president, I have a moral obligation to keep the DJs in line so their heads don’t get too big… that’s why I “criticize” them. 5) Do you produce as well or only DJ?
DJ P.A.N.D.A. is just too massive for Beatport
I’ve been mainly focusing on producing lately because you have to produce to make it big. However, you can’t find my production on Beatport though because it’s too MASSIVE for beatport. They couldn’t handle it. True story.
6) Do you read any house music publications like DJ Mag or online stuff like house blogs?
Of course I read dj mag AND mix mag. Everytime I read them, I shed a few tears because it makes me realize how much the parties in America suck. That’s probably the reason why there’s no US edition of those magazines. It’s cuz there’s nothing to write about here. As for house blogs, I read them to see what shit tracks these dj wannabe fanatics are raving about so I can hate on them on my own blog. Ha!
7) You’ve made fun of Tour Managers in the past, do you really think their jobs are easy?
Ask any tour manager what they do and if they’re sober enough, they’ll tell you ” I babysit that retard ” and points to the DJ. Now lemme ask you, is it easy to babysit a retard? Probably, but is it rewarding? Just look at the hot chicks they have surrounding them and look at all the places they travel to and all the 5 star hotels they stay at and all the free booze and 5 star restaurants they eat at. Yeah…. “tough life”.
8 ) Your post, DJ Dance Moves 101 got a lot of attention, what’s your favorite dance move in the booth?

That post is a classic. I’ve even had DJs make fun of each other doing those dance moves. I’m known to do the “I got a black baby in me that wants to get out” dance move. That dance moves will be further disscussed in the “DJ Dance Moves: Advance Course”.
9) You’ve been chain smoking through out this interview. Are you smoking tobacco or marijuana?
Why? Are my eyes squinty? You making fun of me cuz I got small eyes or something?
